Kelantan Kwang Tung Association

People of Kwang Tung origin have been in the state of Kelantan many moons ago. In the year 1959, a group of insightful people decided to spread their culture at the same time helps in assisting social welfare and career development. 

In addition, the spirit of goodwill was spread within the community by mingling with other ethnic groups to promote peaceful coexistence.

At one particular anniversary meeting, Mr. Wong Lian Guang (黄连光), the vice president of the Kelantan Chinese Chamber of Commerce, proposed the idea of establishing the Kwang Tung Association which received numerous support from his fellow members. 

Hence, the Kelantan Kwang Tung Association began its journey in 1961 with more than 400 members.

The community helps each other by being in unity, getting social welfare for those in need, exchange of knowledge and wisdom, increasing the awareness of health cultures and sports activity. The association also organized various activities related to health, culture, academic, sports and recreation with the help from the community.
